Hey there! I’m Kelvin Tran! If you’re on this page, you must really be a fan (aww!) Kidding, kidding - you’re probably wondering why you should trust a word I have to say about anything, instead of talking to that guy who claims to be a CCN…eh? down the street by the coffee shop! They say they know IP, but it sounds suspiciously like they’re asking to use the restroom!

Well, I’m a dude that’s been around the IT infrastructure (networking/sysadmin) space for a bit of a while now! My specialty is combining the youthful exuberance of not having been alive during the flip phone era (gotta love being 21 y/o!) with the insights gained from going mad after 10 hours of troubleshooting MPLS only to realize you forgot to flip on the power switch on the router!

My most recent role was at CBT Nuggets, where I did training on a buffet menu worth of subjects, from that newfangled Segment Routing thing to some good ol’ VMware!

In all seriousness, I’m someone who’s extremely passionate about IT. I’ve picked up a lot of knowledge along the way, and I’ve always found the idea of hoarding knowledge in the interest of job security to be ludicrously insecure. As such, as I keep learning and growing my knowledge base, I’ve made it my mission to share that knowledge as I go along. I can’t promise that I’ll share that knowledge for free every time, but I will say that everything on my blog will always be free - you’ll never have to pay a cent to read me ramble on about some random topic in IT while making some attempts at jokes with all the success of a 2 year old kid’s free-throw percentage.

Enjoy! And if you ever have any questions, I make an active effort to be extremely generous with my time - after all, it’s the generosity of those whose shoulders I stand on that have allowed me to get to this point. Thus, feel free to take advantage of any of the contact methods outlined below to get in touch with me any time!
